Tips for the State DECA Conference!

This year the conference promises to be the biggest ever!  Over 350 New Hampshire DECA members are scheduled to attend, and there will be over 35 different competitive events, from Marketing Management to business administration to advertising to Fashion Merchandising…and that is just the tip of the iceberg!   We will have a speaker from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, a hypnotist brought back by popular demand, and of course the NEON theme dance on Thursday night!  AND:  the first annual DECA Marketing and Economics TRIVIA Challenge!  Plus— for the fifth year, our favorite caricature artist will be back to draw you!  So remember these tips:   Bring your ID as you will need it for all competitive events and testing;  bring a #2 pencil and non-programmable calculator to the written test.  Wear your nametag and wrist band at all times- don’t leave the hotel…and have a great time!  Network!  Learn new things!  Have fun!  Make some new friends!  See you there!

INTERVIEWS FOR OFFICER CANDIDATES-UPDATE 1/24:

Latest update: due to cold and snow and other crazy winter weather, the interviews are canceled.  We will provide info and tips on running for office via email and other social networking methods!  Fear not, the candidates will be well prepared for their campaign to run for 2011-2012 NH State DECA Officer Team !!!!!

Due to inclement weather, two scheduled meetings with the new officer candidates have had to be canceled!  Hope the next interview date, on Monday, January 24, at Central High in Manchester, still goes!  We shall see how the snow affects this date!

Next up is a meeting with other CTSO state officers in New Hampshire (like FFA, HOSA, FBLA, etc.) to plan the annual CTSO (Career Technical Student Organization) Day in Concord, NH.  This activity is designed to promote the student organizations to the legislature and politicians who will support continued funding for these programs.  So, hope this meeting works and we plan a good CTSO Day!
