NH DECA CDC Winner Scholarships

If you are a senior and were a a first or second place winner at the New Hampshire DECA Career Development Conference this February,   you are eligible for scholarships from Southern New Hampshire University, Johnson and Wales University, Plymouth State University, and Rivier College.  Check your program, or contact the college, to find out what your scholarship might be. Scholarships are usually offered for specific competitive event categories.  Rivier College offers a $1,000 scholarship for any student who attended the CDC, regardless of whether you were a winner or not.

NH DECA International Conference Salt Lake City: Cost Information

For those planning to travel to Salt Lake City for the ICDC, here is some basic info on costs to help prepare:

Registration: $ 130 (includes national DECA reg. fee, plus the NH DECA pins, tees, light up stuff,  insurance, and surprises when we get there, etc.)

Air: around $335 from Manchester (as of Feb. 20)

Trips/Activities: JUST  announced by DECA: $12 for baseball, $45 for Lagoon, $35 for Eli Young Concert, $30 entry for DECA Dash for the Diamonds  race/walk…     more info: http://www.deca.org/events/icdc

Hotel Shuttle: only holds 5 people, so take that into consideration -  M thru F,  7am- 11pm

Amenities: Hotel has pool, hot tub, exercise room, free wi-fi, free parking

Location: ten minute walk to Convention Center, and regular buses to Convention Center and back provided by DECA during events;

NH DECA TRIVIA CHALLENGE WINNER: Kennett High School

This year was the first time that the Trivia Challenge was held at the State Career Development Conference!  With questions ranging from “who is Ben Bernanke” to what is an “open shop,”   and including a range of questions from economics, current business topics, marketing, management, and so on, it was fun and informative! Over 130 students participated!!! Quick, what is the 5th “P” of marketing?!!
