Pumpkin Contest at Fall Leadership (2011)

We will be having the Third Annual New Hampshire DECA Week Pumpkin Contest at this year’s Fall Leadership Conference. Bring your carved pumpkin to FLC at Southern New Hampshire University on 25th, with your chapter, for a chance to win the Pumpkin Trophy and a $100 DECA images gift card for your chapter! The Rules:

  • As cool as giant pumpkins are, there will not be any room for them at SNHU. To keep everything on a smaller scale, your pumpkin must be small enough that a single chapter member will be able to carry it into the main room. It must be between the dimensions of 2.5’ x 2.5’ by 2.5’. Outside these dimensions will be disqualified. No electrical or lighted elements permitted in/on/around pumpkin. No candles/live flame. Natural look please. No animals please (?)
  • Be sure to try to somehow incorporate DECA and Salt Lake City into the pumpkin’s theme.
  • Your pumpkins must be carved and/or decorated in advance. There will not be any time to do this at the Fall Leadership Conference.
  • Your pumpkin will be judged by students in SNHU’s hospitality program.
  • Please have minimum teacher input, maximum student input.

The rubric that will be used to grade the pumpkins is included below. Good luck and hope to see you and your pumpkin at FLC!
