2021 NH DECA State Conference

Date: February, 2021

Location: VIRTUAL  or  DoubleTree Hotel, Manchester, NH

The State Career Development Conference has been held since 1957, and for 2021 it will most ilikely be a VIRTUAL conference experience. As the school year gets going in September, plans and arrangements will be made for the format. Teachers and students will know in advance what events are available to enter for competition.  So much depends on the Covid-19 virus protocols and what school districts will allow, and what DECA will allow, and what proper health and safety needs are at the time.

Looking back, our yearly state conference has been held at the Manchester DoubleTree Hotel in Manchester, New Hampshire.  One of the highlights of DECA membership, this conference gives students a chance to show their stuff in competitive events and presentations, all based on skills learned in their business classes, jobs, and DECA. From written tests to case problem solving to business plans and ad campaigns, there are over 40 categories of events for students to enter. The conference doesn’t just start on the February date, because by the time they arrive on site, most students have spent many hours studying, preparing, polishing and practicing for their events.

Categories include, but are not limited to, Marketing, Advertising, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Travel, Hospitality, Sports Marketing, Business Management, Market Research, and much more. Awards are given out on the final day at the Closing Awards Breakfast, and students placing in the top categories are eligible to move on to compete internationally in April of 2021.

In addition to competition, students elect state officers for the upcoming year, attend the dynamic opening session, the mini-awards dinner, a special entertainment guest, and a marketing scavenger hunt. They have time to network, make new friends, and grow through the events and activities. It is a three day experience that will never be forgotten... and the meals are fantastic.

Registration is done online, and is done by the DECA Chapter Advisor/teacher. Information and costs will be sent to all chapter advisors as well as be put on this webpage.
