COMING NEXT WEEK: NH CTSO State Officer Training!

The New Hampshire DECA State Officer team for 2010-2011 will begin their first official conference of their term, as they participate in the New Hampshire Career and Technical Student Organization Training. It is a great way for officers from all the CTSO clubs to get together and network, as well as learn organization and planning skills….and have fun too!

There will be about 48 students in attendance….up in the wild north country!

Students will also make plans for CTSO Day and making contacts with state legislators…

The New Hampshire State Officer Team for 2010-2011 met to discuss a variety of topics, including: The NH CTSO state officer training coming up in August… the NH DECA Fall Leadership Conference coming in October….their sponsorship campaign…the 2011 NH DECA theme (to be announced in the future!)…. workshops for DECA members….. the national conference coming in April 2011 in Orlando…. the November DECA conference in Washington D.C. …… new competitive events for this year….. changes to events…. the new DECA logo… fundraisers….gifts to members attending the Fall Leadership Conference….speakers for FLC…. chapter activities….Screemfest at Canobie Lake…

DECA Ultimate Power Trip Washington DC Conference Nov. 12

This years North-South Eastern Conference will be November 12-14, 2010 in Washington D.C. It will also be open to the Western Region chapters so it should be huge! Plan ahead for this great gathering of workshops, networking, and sightseeing in D.C. !!!

Last year the conference in Buffalo featured a workshop presented by the New Hampshire State Officer Team…. the plans for this year have not been finalized yet, but may also include workshops presented by State Officer teams…

Workshops will include training for leadership, entrepreneurship, marketing , career planning, and plenty more…

The New Hampshire DECA State Officer Team will get together with officers of the other state career-tech orgs (FBLA, Skills USA, etc.) for two days of intensive leadership training and networking… in Gorham, NH. Students will get the benefit of ideas shared with other New Hampshire student organizations. It is a great opportunity to network and learn new leadership and teamwork skills.

NH DECA Alumni Jeremy Hitchcock Pens Newspaper Column on Management

New Hampshire DECA Class of 2000 Alumni Jeremy Hitchcock has written a column for the Manchester Union Leader newspaper. Their series, “Ask the Expert,” has articles written by successful business leaders from the Granite State. Jeremy’s topic is “Making a Great Work Environment.” He is the CEO and CFO of Dyn, Inc., in Manchester. Here are the final results for New Hampshire DECA from the International Career Development Conference in Louisville Kentucky last month. New Hampshire did very well, possibly the best ever overall, and congratulations go out to all the Winners and contestants!
