New Hampshire State DECA Conference Will Be in Manchester, Not Nashua, this year.

WHEN: Conference starts Tuesday evening, February 15th, and ends around noon on Thursday, February 17th. Written Tests take place Tuesday night, Judging events take place on Wednesday, and the Awards Breakfast is on Thursday.

WHERE: Now at the Manchester Radisson Hotel,  New Hampshire NOTE:  NOT NASHUA RADISSON–even though the Nashua Radisson re-opened on Thursday, Feb. 3, we will not be returning there- we WILL BE AT Manchester Radisson for 2011 conference.

WHAT: DECA competitive events in marketing, management, finance, travel, tourism, and many other business categories.

DUE DATES:  Hotel  Money due Feb. 9 to Manchester Radisson.

On-Line Registration is due:  Done….

Payment is due: Done

Written Projects due to Mary Heartz:   …projects are in… all done

Hotel bookings and hotel payment due to hotel:          Feb. 9, 2011

Londonderry DECA In Top 25 in N.E.Region DECA Stock Market Game

Londonderry DECA has three teams which placed in the top 25 for the Northeast Region in the DECA SMG Stock Market Challenge!

Congratulations to Advisor Scott Greene and his teams-  they are eligible to present their portfolio in competition at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando this April.

Londonderry Finalists Include: Casey Cyr (10th); Kyle Willis and Alex Burbine (17th); Brandon Young and Brendan O’Leary (20th); Ethan Dupree and Troy Ward (21st)

There are thousands of DECA members around the country who participate in this annual competition in class- with the goal being to develop a successful stock portfolio.

Winners take their portfolio and present their investment plan to judges in Orlando, to come away with national awards.

Good luck to the Londonderry DECA teams as they consider the next phase in this competition!

The goal of the Economics for Leaders program is to give promising students the skills to be more effective leaders and to teach them how to employ economic analysis when considering difficult public policy choices.  The five day, all expenses, meals and lodging paid experience is a once in a lifetime program for high school juniors.
