2010-2011 New Hampshire State Officer Application Deadline Extended!

State Officer Shaheen | January 14, 2010

The State Officers are an very important part of any State DECA organization!  As a state officer, you work together with your fellow officers to do a wide variety of duties including:

  • Help prepare and run state events like Fall Leadership, DECA Week and CDC
  • Run leadership conferences; attend NARCON in Washington D.C. (2010)
  • Communicate with National Officers as well as other state officers from across the country
  • Make sure New Hampshire Chapters are up to date with any DECA news
  • Visit other chapters to spread news and to help members
  • Manage the NH DECA social networking sites like nhdeca.org and the NH DECA  Facebook page
  • And more!

If this is something you are interested in doing, and you are not a senior this year in high school, then being a state officer might be for you!

The first step in becoming a State Officer is to talk to your Advisor. They can download the application to be a state officer for you, since it is located in the “Advisor’s only” section of the website.

Fill out the application and send it in to the address on the form. You can bring your letters of recommendation with you to the interview.  All applications are due by January 29th!  The second round applicants will be interviewed some time in early February at Central High School in Manchester, New Hampshire. The exact date will be announced and the candidates will be notified.

The current officer team has been through this process before and would be more then willing to help you out planning and executing your campaign!  Since we are currently serving officers however, we are not allowed to endorse one particular campaign.  If you would like any help planning or executing your campaign, or you would like more information on the process or what is required of state officers, please feel free to contact me at mikeshaheen@yahoo.com Or contact any of the other officers, whose contact information is located on the Contact page.

Good Luck!
